This chapter in the X Men franchise is set in 1983; when one of the very first mutants, Apocalypse, is woken after sleeping for thousands of years and attacks, Professor X and his students have to team up to try and stop him and save the world.
The X Men films tend to be my favourites of the many superhero franchises that are made at the moment, and this was an enjoyable story. It was nice to see the younger versions of Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) make an appearance, and there were some lovely and funny moments between Professor X (James McAvoy) and Moira Mactaggert (Rose Byrne).
This film has had mostly negative reviews but I enjoyed it, although I admit the timelines can get confusing at times. It didn’t blow me away, but it was a fun adventure film with many talented actors.
